Easy Microwave Spicy Potato Fry
1. Ingredients For Microwaving
A. Potatoes 3
B. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
C. Red chilli powder 11/2 tsp
D. Salt
E. Oil 1 tbsp
2. Ingredients For Tadka
A. Oil 1 tbsp
B. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
C. Curry leaves 5
1. Method Of Preparation Of Potatoes In The Microwave
A. Take three potatoes & peel the skin
B. Cube the potatoes.
C. Wash the cubed potatoes under cold running water.
D. Pat them dry & put them in a microwave safe bowl.
E. Coat the potatoes with oil. Make sure all the potatoes get coated in oil.
F. Cover it with a cling wrap & put it in the oven for 5 minutes.
G. Remove it from the oven & to the potatoes, add salt, turmeric powder & chilli powder & mix it gently making sure not to break the potatoes.
H. Put it back in the oven for 5 more minutes without the cling wrap. Take it out after 5 minutes.
2. Method Of Preparation Of Tadka
A. Add oil in a pan. When the oil gets hot, add mustard, when it starts to splutter add the curry leaves & turn off the gas.
B. Add this tadka to the potatoes & mix well & if u wish to, microwave the tadka potatoes for 2 minutes.
Notes:
1. I made the potatoes spicy. If you don't want it that way, u may reduce the quantity of chilli powder to just 1 tsp or even lesser.
2. Microwaving the tadka potatoes is completely optional.
Many times tried this recipe. Cooking time is very less. No sticky in bottom golf pan... Thanks shiba
